2016 CWDI Report on Women Board Directors of Latin America’s 100 Largest Companies, 2005-2016

  • Women hold an average of 7.3% of board seats in the 100 largest companies in Latin America.
  • In the region, Colombia has the highest percentage (16.2%).  The two largest economies in the region, Brazil and Mexico, have only 6.4% and 6.1% women directors, respectively.

2016 CWDI Report on Women Board Directors of Central and Eastern European Blue-Chip Companies

  • Women hold an average of 15.5% of board seats in 17 Central and Eastern European countries.
  • In the region, Latvia has the highest percentage (27.1%), followed by Croatia (20.1%), Bulgaria (19.7%) and Slovenia (19.3%).

2015 CWDI Report on Women Board Directors in APEC Economies

  • Women hold an average of just 9.8% of board seats in 19 APEC economies.
  • Among APEC economies, Canada (20.4%), Australia (20.1%), and the US (19.2%) have the highest percentages, followed by Vietnam (13.9%), New Zealand (13.6%), and China (13.2%).

2015 CWDI Report: Women Board Directors of the Fortune Global 200

  • From 2004 – 2014, the percentage of women board directors has increased only 7.4% — less than 1% annually — from 10.4% in 2004 to 17.8% in 2014.
  • The Top Three countries with the highest percentage of women board directors all have legislative quotas. France (30.2%), Italy (25.8%), and the Netherlands (23.6%)

  • CWDI Chair Irene Natividad was joined by Henryka Bochniarz, President of Polish Confederation of Private Employers (Lewiatan), and over 40 women Board Directors, CEOs and executives from within Poland and around the world for Market Open at the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
  • The Market Open kicked off Poland’s hosting of the 2016 Global Summit of Women and saluted the achievements of Polish women leaders in business.

Philippine Stock Exchange Market Open, September 15, 2015

ASX (Sydney) Market Open
10 Sept 2014

  • Over 50 women board directors and executives, including Australia’s Sex Discrimination Commissioner Elizabeth Broderick, joined CWDI Chair Irene Natividad in opening the Australian Securities Exchange on September 10th.
  • The ringing of the bell was followed by a Discussion Forum on Board Diversity, and the presentation of the Corporate Champion Award to ASX chair Rick Holliday-Smith for the Exchange’s efforts to accelerate board diversity.
